My worst nightmare is having a jack fail right after I pull the truck out. I haven't weighed mine but I would bet it's at least a thousand pounds heavier.

Fortunately I never had that happen, but every time I jacked up mine that was going through my mind the whole time especially after pulling out from under it, scary $hit to say the least!.. :eek

I made stands to put my old camper on that were the same height as the truck bed so I didn't have to do as much jacking.
The camper will stand on three jacks...don't ask how I know :beat

The scarest jacks were the old ones that were not attached to the camper. Tripod looking with only one on each side that you'd have to have centered for balance. Them were scary mofo's to use :say?

. Talk about the camper swaying around in the air.:eek :eek

I had to put blocks under all 4 jacks to get it on my F350. The stands I made were simply 2x6 sawhorse type gussetted with 3/4" ply. So the less time I had to keep the camper in the air the better I felt. My jacks were hand crank so with every crank the damn thing was swung around. I got used to it and felt pretty confident but still used complete cation.

You had to find the front to rear balance of the samper, the stand could hold it if slightly off but that was the scariest few years with the old 8' camper.
I've had 3 different cabovers and only my first one used the tripod jacks.
