Mine did. I'd put it on my new one but I have a small drive and no room for another partition, trying to decide which laptop to use, one should be cleaned out that would be the one to use I guess, now to find time to do it..

I got this little analog VHS to digital DVD converter box and started ripping through a FULL box of tapes here at the shop. Â It works pretty much un-attended, just remember to switch tapes and press record...
Prolly take a few WEEKS to play through all of them... Â
Not the best, but they are at least digital so you can edit them easily...
Sample: Â Eliminator commerical on SpeedVison from 1999...

10x better...no more effen "tiles", unless you want 'em. Since the computer guy loaded their TP version, maybe it's got "more" than the Insider download.
I plugged in everything USB I could find laying around and not once did it say "driver not found"... Boots quickly...
Everything's on the homegroup: desktops, laptops, printer, DTV external...hmmm wonder if my WinPhone can join too...
Might have to take it to the shop for my desk unit to get more playtime w/it...

Sounding good!! Stupid Question. How friendly has it been using a mouse and not having touch screen? Touch screen can be nice at times, But the screen gets slimy from the finger prints.

Hmmm, sounds good I take it it's better than Win7 too then? I'll have to load it up on my laptop and play with it, from what I read I don't want 8.1 so I may just go straight to 10.

I've loaded 10 on an old Dell Celeron laptop...actually (barely) ran OK with just the 1g of RAM...
Just updated the ram to 3g yesterday...been runnin' it last night and this morn...seems stable but it does have it's "quirks"...
Lots of "lag" w/the Celeron...biggest issue is going to learn to read HORIZONTALLY like on a swipe tablet vs vertical like a PC... Networking is also iffy...but it's a "preview"...
Picked up a little used 24" monitor at the PC shop for $80...!!!

Well, I tried to load it up on an old PC I built a few years ago and it wouldn't take it, not enough anything. So I loaded it on my HP Pavillion DV7, took awhile to install but I didn't have to do anything, only had to get one driver for "Unknown Device" that's it, no problems with Networking so far but I haven't had the time to really dig into it much either, I did notice some menu items missing(grayed out)but I'm sure it's because it's just a preview, fact I'm on it now. Could do without those stupid tiles to the right of the start menu though, gonna have to look into that..

You can find the Password in the registry but it can take some time unless you get lucky, should be under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/software, find the program and look for a folder that sounds like it could contain the password, worked for me a few times, another way is find a password recovery program, I've got one somewhere but I doubt it would work on Win7 it's pretty old. And the quick and dirty way, just clean it out and reload Windows... This is the way I've done it before, maybe Gary has an easier way..

Quote (AZKC @ Nov. 12 2014,2:43 pm) | Okay, here's one. Work got me a new laptop and doesn't want the old one back. Its loaded with Eset and not able to update because of what ever IT did on their end. It really clogs things up because its trying to update and do its thing. Â I want to uninstall it, but it is password protected of course.
So whats the work around to get it gone Â
Laymans terms folks...... Â |
Eset is a "hog" like Norton, McAfee, etc.
Since Art turned me on to AVG some (10?) years ago, NEVER a problem...on ANY platform...add Glary and your golden...
Kev, if it's an XP machine, I still have a COMMANDER disk that you can boot with and remove the password...Google around, a fix is there...
Oh, it's an old laptop...RE-FORMAT & RE-INSTALL Win7 Pro...costs me $100 and they throw in Office 07 too...
